Introduction

Prof.Dr. Shaozi Li received the B.S. degree from the Computer Science Department,Hunan University, and the M.S. degree from the Institute of System Engineering,Xi'an Jiaotong University, and the Ph.D. degree from the College of Computer Science, National University of Defense Technology.

He currently serves as the Chair of Cognitive Science Department of XiamenUniversity, the Vice Director of Fujian Key Lab of the Brain-like IntelligenceSystem, the Director of Intelligent Multimedia Technology Laboratory of XiamenUniversity, and the Vice Director and General Secretary concurrently of theCouncil of Fujian Artificial Intelligence Society. He is also the Member of theSpecial Committee of Theoretical Computer Science, China Computer Federation,the Special Committee of Multimedia Technology, China Computer Federation, theSpecial Committee of Cooperative Computing, China Computer Federation, and theMember of the Academic Committee of Shanxi Key Lab of Distributed ComputerSoftware Technology. Besides, he is the visiting professor of severaluniversities in China. Moreover, he once served as the first Cross-CenturyBackbone, Ministry of Machinery Industry and the first Excellent Young andMiddle-aged Backbone Teachers.

Hisresearch interests cover Artificial Intelligence and Its Applications, MovingObjects Detection and Recognition, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, NaturalLanguage Processing and Multimedia Information Retrieval, Network Multimediaand CSCW Technology and others.
